Press Release
For years, families in a drought-stricken community struggled to access clean drinking water. Women and children often walked several kilometers each day to collect water from distant wells and rivers, many of which were unsafe to drink.
The long journeys consumed valuable time that could have been spent in school, farming, or other productive activities.
This year, a new clean water initiative transformed daily life in the village.
Engineers and community volunteers worked together to drill a deep borehole and install a solar-powered water pump capable of supplying thousands of liters of clean water each day.
The project also included the construction of safe water storage tanks and multiple access points throughout the village.
For the first time in years, families can now access safe drinking water within minutes of their homes.
Children who once spent hours fetching water now attend school regularly. Farmers are able to maintain small irrigation gardens, improving both nutrition and household income.
Local leaders have established a community water committee responsible for maintaining the system and ensuring sustainable management of the resource.
The impact has been immediate and profound.
“Water has changed everything for us,” said one village elder. “It has brought health, opportunity, and hope back to our community.”
